Cumilla Customs honors Crown Cement
on int’l customs day

Cumilla Customs has honored M. I. Cement Factory Ltd. (Crown Cement) for being a top
exporting company through Bibir Bazar and Belonia land ports.
Md. Mukter Hossain Talukder, Chief Executive Officer of Crown Cement, received a
crest and certificate on behalf of the company from Cumilla Customs Commissioner
Mohammad Belal Hossain Chowdhury at a program in Cumilla on Tuesday.
Cumilla Customs hosted the program on occasion of International Customs Day at its
premises in the district city.
Speaking at the event, Md. Mukter Hossain Talukder said Crown Cement is the pioneer
in cement export since 2003 and the company is exporting its cement in the North
Eastern states of India.
“Our cement export in 2019-20 fiscal year was at around 81,000 metric ton worth $6.2
million and it stood around 42,430 metric ton worth $3.8 million at the end of first six
months of this fiscal year,” he said.
It is mentionable that Crown Cement holds more than 50 percent market share of
Bangladesh’s cement export. Many important structures and infrastructures such as
Tripura State Assemble House, Agartala Flyover, ILS Hospital, Rabindra Satabarshiki
Bhaban and Najrul Kalakshetra were built with Crown Cement. Many other mega
infrastructures like Agartala International Airport and Agartala International Cricket
Stadium are being constructed with Crown Cement.
