Crown Cement launches Rise High Bangladesh: Season 3

Dhaka, August 2, 2018: Bangladesh is continuously progressing forward to become a
successful developing country and be a role model for other developing countries in the world.
The role of youth of this country is vital for achieving this landmark. One of the main sectors
that has consistently improved the image of this country is “export sector”. Starting from jute
industry to garments industry, Bangladesh has always been successful to be economically
contributed by the export sector. Keeping these in mind, Crown Cement and The Daily Star
have jointly come up with an initiative to make youth contribute to this glory of export industry.
Crown Cement, the flagship brand of M. I. Cement Factory Ltd., in association with The Daily
has jointly launched a campaign styled “Rise High Bangladesh” with an objective to gather
innovative export ideas from university students of this country and secondarily, awarding a
few of the Bangladeshis who have contributed to brighten up our country’s image in the
international platform.
This year’s will be the third season of Rise High Bangladesh, which was launched in 2016. The
previous two years were tremendous successes as well.
Additional Managing Director of M. I. Cement Factory Ltd. (Crown Cement) Md. Alamgir
Kabir said: “After successful completion of ‘Rise High Bangladesh’ for the last two years, we
are launching the flagship campaign for the third time. It means that we are not only focuses
on doing business or profits, we also want to be engaged in the socio-economic development
of the country.”
The campaign process of season 3 is same as season 1 and season 2. Top 10 teams will be
selected based on feasibility and innovation were selected by jury who present their ideas in
front of an expert panel of jurors, comprised of some of the most prominent business leaders
and practitioners in the country. The ideas will be published by The Daily Star both on print
and digital platform for seeking votes from the readers. Top three teams will be shortlisted for
the final round based on both jury board’s score and online votes. Finalists pitches their
innovative ideas and the winning team gets an opportunity to win an international trip.
