Crown Cement honors two freedom fighters

Dhaka, December 14, 2017: On occasion of Victory Day, M. I. Cement Factory Ltd. (Crown
Cement) today honors two freedom fighters for their outstanding contribution during the
liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971.
The freedom fighters, who were honored as part of Crown Cement’s “Honoring Our Heros”,
comprises Shahid Mahfuzur Rahman Khan, Bir Protik (posthumous), of Manikganj and Md. Fazlul
Hoque, Bir Protik, of Tangail.
Md. Alamgir Kabir, Additional Managing Director of Crown Cement, handed over crests, financial
assistance and gift vouchers to them. Shamima Khanom, sister of Shahid Mahfuzur Rahman Khan,
Bir Protik (posthumous), received the crest, financial assistance and gift voucher on behalf his
brother.
Md. Fazlul Hoque, Bir Protik shared his experience of liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971.
Md. Alamgir Kabir said the freedom fighters are the hero of Bangladesh. “Honoring them is our
social responsibility. We will continue honoring our heroes in future too so that our next
generation is encouraged to carry out the program,” he said.
Chief Executive Officer of Crown Cement Group Masud Khan, FCA, FCMA and Executive Director
of Crown Cement Md. Habibur Rahman Mollah also spoke at the function.
