Crown Cement honors a freedom fighter

Dhaka, March 25, 2018: On occasion of Independence Day, M. I. Cement Factory Ltd. (Crown
Cement) today honors a freedom fighter for his outstanding contribution during the liberation
war of Bangladesh in 1971.
The freedom fighter, who was honored as part of Crown Cement’s “Honoring Our Hero”, is Sk.
Md. Anwar Hossain Pahari, Bir Protik of Sirajganj.
Mohammed Jahangir Alam, Chairman Crown Cement, handed over a crest and financial
assistance to him, while Md. Alamgir Kabir, Additional Managing Director of Crown Cement,
handed over a gift voucher to the freedom fighter.
Sk. Md. Anwar Hossain Pahari, Bir Protik shared his experience of liberation war of Bangladesh in
1971.
Mohammed Jahangir Alam said, “Honoring a freedom fighter is an admirable responsibility for a
company like us.”
Md. Alamgir Kabir said: “It’s possible for us to set up a big company like Crown Cement only due
an independent Bangladesh. So, we will continue honoring our freedom fighters. It’s not
marketing or branding, it’s a social responsibility for us.”
Among others, Mollah Mohammad Majnu, another Additional Managing Director of Crown
Cement, Mizanur Rahman Mollah, and Masud Khan, FCA, FCMA, Chief Executive Officer of Crown
Cement Group, also spoke at the function.
