Crown Cement honors two freedom fighters

On occasion of Independence Day, M. I. Cement Factory Ltd. (Crown Cement) honors two
freedom fighters for their remarkable contributions during the liberation war of Bangladesh in
1971.
The freedom fighters, who were honored as part of Crown Cement’s “Honoring Our Hero”, are
Md Harun Al Rashid of Naogaon and Md. Abdul Hamid Talukdar of Bogra.
Mohammed Jahangir Alam, Chairman of Crown Cement Group, and Md. Alamgir Kabir, Additional
Managing Director of Crown Cement Group, handed over crests, financial assistance and gift
vouchers to the freedom fighters at a program in Dhaka on March 24, 2019 (Sunday).
Md Harun Al Rashid and Md. Abdul Hamid Talukdar, both of whom fought under Sector 7 shared
their experiences of liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971.
Mohammed Jahangir Alam said: “We are honoring the freedom fighters in a small scale. But they
deserve to be honored in a big way and in a big environment.”
Md. Alamgir Kabir said: “The freedom fighters’ contribution to the nation is countless. As we have
honored two freedom fighters today, we will continue honoring them.”
Masud Khan, FCA, FCMA, Chief Executive Officer of Crown Cement Group, and Md. Mukter
Hossain Talukder, Chief Operating Officer of Crown Cement Group, also spoke at the function.
